HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH OUTBACK HOUND?
I started Outback Hound in November of 2023
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT WORKING WITH DOGS?
I love their authenticity. They are just the most honest and loyal beings I have ever had the pleasure to spend my time with. They teach me everyday to stop and smell, literally everything!
I love building relationships with each dog and seeing how we can further their confidence! I also love a good face wash!
FAVOURITE PART OF THE JOB:
I would have to say my favourite part of this job is working with clients and their dogs to reach milestones, create goals and teach them confidence, security, recall, social skills, you name it!
I also truly enjoy just watching dogs LIVE their best day.
FAVOURITE BREED(S) AND WHY:
I am very biased! 1st and foremost would be Coonhounds! However, I truly appreciate a working dog and their drive in the bush! I love seeing Hounds, Viszlas, German Short Haired Pointers, and Beagles do their natural thing out in the wild!
FAVOURITE THING ABOUT PACK WALKS:
My favourite thing about pack walks is of course being outdoors daily. There is something truly humbling about being outside, in all elements, with a pack of dogs! It keeps me grounded! I also truly enjoy just watching the dogs love their best day!
FUN FACT ABOUT YOU:
I'm not sure how "fun" it is, but I am a mother of 2 amazing boys! I am busy with them when I'm not out with the pooches on the trail! I have a beautiful, amazing and supportive husband who I get to share this amazing life with! I am so grateful everyday for all the success I see in my family! Family, dogs and adventuring is the goal for each day I can get that in!
YOUR ENERGY AS A HANDLER:
I would say confident, calm, caring and disciplined. I love these dogs unconditionally. My first priority is always safety and in-order to achieve that there needs to be a mutual respect and understanding between dogs and handlers that comes from the heart! With an absolute side of LOVE and CUDDLES!
A DOG THAT HAS MADE AN IMPACT ON YOU:
My dog Beau has been the biggest lesson teaching dog I have ever owned. Prior to Beau I had never owned a Hound or any working dog truly. I had no idea what I was getting into with him, and whether I liked it or not, he would teach me to be calm and patient. He would also teach me to be firm but loving. He would also very quickly teach me that a simple walk around the neighbourhood wasn't going to cut it. This fueled the start of Outback Hound! Beau is my soul dog! We have been in this from the start and I'm so grateful that he has pushed me and made this little hobby a beautiful work of art that I call my own! Outback Hound is my pride and joy-- because of him!

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH OUTBACK HOUND?
I have been with Outback Hound since the beginning of September 2025.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT WORKING WITH DOGS?
Getting to know each dog's unique and amazing personality is what I enjoy most about working with dogs!
FAVOURITE PART OF THE JOB:
Working with these incredible puppies in a joyful and upbeat atmosphere is, in my opinion, the best part of my job.
FAVOURITE BREED(S) AND WHY:
Any breed in the Retriever family is undoubtedly my favourite! I've owned Retrievers my entire life, and I genuinely adore how affectionate and loyal they are, as well as how goofy they can be!
FAVOURITE THING ABOUT PACK WALKS:
Being able to work with and engage with all of your incredible puppies every week is my absolute favourite aspect of pack walks! as well as spending time in the beautiful outdoors!
FUN FACT ABOUT YOU:
I've been working with both large and small animals since I was four years old, and I also placed as one of the top three public speakers for 4-H BC in 2024!
YOUR ENERGY AS A HANDLER:
My energy as a handler is calm, but with a bit of humour and excitement!
A DOG THAT HAS MADE AN IMPACT ON YOU:
My first Golden Retriever, Kye Girl, and my current Golden Retriever Black Lab cross, Skyler, have both had a large impact on me. I learned from Kye Girl that family doesn't always have to be just people; it can be dogs too! I've learned from Skyler that love, calmness, and patience are key strategies for success and happiness. Skyler has also taught me that best friends can come in many different shapes, sizes, and that sometimes best friends have 4 paws! Although those two pups have had a number of impacts on me and my life, teaching me those lessons has been one of their most important ones.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH OUTBACK HOUND?
I have been working with Outback Hound since January 2026 and am so happy to be a part of the team!
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT WORKING WITH DOGS?
What I love most about working with dogs is their ability to meet everyone with love. Even when they’re anxious, building that trust and watching them open up is so rewarding.
FAVOURITE PART OF THE JOB:
Seeing all the pups light up when they spot water. Whether it’s a puddle, a stream, or mud, and watching them all run in to play together.
FAVOURITE BREED(S) AND WHY:
Probably Staffordshire Bull Terriers, they’re always such love bugs and are full of personality. They can get such a bad reputation, but they have so much love to give and are incredibly affectionate, loyal dogs.
FAVOURITE THING ABOUT PACK WALKS:
Seeing dogs of all different backgrounds, homes, and sizes come together just to play, explore, and enjoy being dogs together.
FUN FACT ABOUT YOU:
I spent two years traveling all over North America with my partner in our 1991 camper van. We even looked after dogs while living on the road!
YOUR ENERGY AS A HANDLER:
My energy as a handler is patient and accepting, and I’m always open to learning and growing with every dog I work with.
A DOG THAT HAS MADE AN IMPACT ON YOU:
My own rescue dog from Mexico. She’s taught me so much about being an owner and has really helped me put everything I’ve learned over the past five years in the dog care world into practice. Watching her grow, build trust, and make friends has been incredibly rewarding.
